Knisely, Ralph F. (U.S. Army Biological Laboratories, Fort Detrick, Frederick, Md.), Lois M. Swaney, and Harold Friedlander. Selective media for the isolation of Pasteurella pestis. J. Bacteriol. 88:491-496. 1964.-Several selective media are described that were successfully used to isolate virulent and avirulent strains of Pasteurella pestis from material heavily contaminated with other organis...
متن کاملDeoxyribonucleic acid hybridization among some species of the genus Pasteurella.
The technique of measuring deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) complimentarity described by B. J. McCarthy and E. T. Bolton (Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U.S. 50:156, 1963) has enabled genetic comparisons of various bacteria, viruses, mammals, and other organisms. DNA homologies existing among five species of bacteria now classified in the genus Pasteurella (Bergey's Manual, 7th edition) were studied. The sp...
متن کاملChromosome Numbers for Some Erodium L'Hér (Geraniaceae) Species of Iran
Erodium (Geranaiceae) species are distributed in different habitats of Iran. Some species are of medicinal importance while some are well known weeds. There are no chromosome counts for Erdoium species of Iran. Chromosome numbers are given for six taxa of Erodium (Geraniaceae) from Iran: E. cicutarium (2n=36), E. ciconium(2n=18), E. malacoides (2n=20), E. moschatum (2n=20), E. neuradifolium (2n...
متن کاملSome new species of Mucorales for mycoflora of Iran
In order to determine soil inhabitant fungi of Mazandaran and Golestan provinces (N Iran), some soil samples from arable and non-arable areas were collected. After the isolation, purification and identification of fungi, 61 isolates, belonging to Absidia, Actinomucor, Cunninghamella, Lichtheimia, Mucor, Syncephalastrum and Rhizopus were identified. After DNA extraction, all genera were subjecte...
متن کاملA New Pasteurella Species (?) from a Wound Infection.
A case of appendicitis is described in which the wound was infected with an organism of the genus Pasteurella. The morphological and biochemical properties of the strain are recorded, and comparison is made with other species of the same genus. It is concluded that this strain may be a new species.
